Peacock Park Visit with Mayor Ros Jones

Our Year 5 & Year 6 children were a part of creating the designs for the new entrance of the park and their designs will be cast in metal and placed around the gate and on benches.

The council workers, friends and Mayor were very grateful for the children visiting and taking part in the process.

The artist doing the work is called Chris Campbell a local sculptor.

Doncaster Read Aloud
7/03/2025 3:39 PM
Doncaster Read Aloud

Over the last few weeks, our Y4, Y5 and Y6 children have been working incredibly hard to practise the poetry selection for this year's Doncaster Read Aloud. Last week, three or four children from each year group were chosen to represent their classes in the semi-final, on World Book Day.

Iyla, Harry, Vanessa, Olivia-Mae, Roaie-Leigh, Lavinia, Logan, Adeline, Kleo and Issac all gave fantastic, expressive performances in front of KS2, teaching staff and our guest judge, David, who is one of our school governors. He was very impressed with their efforts and confidence!

The votes were counted and the winner was... ADELINE!

We are so pleased that she will be representing our school on 26th March at Danum GLAM in the Doncaster-wide Danum Read Aloud competition. Phil - our local library manager - also provided her with the prize of a £20 Amazon voucher to congratulate her on her victory.

All performers were incredible and we are so proud of them all!

KS1 Road Safety Session

On Thursday 13th February, our KS1 children took part in a Road Safety event. We learned the importance of being safe near roads and how to be a sensible pedestrian. We had lots of fun whilst learning an important rhyme - Stop, Look, Listen.
